About the making of Nenya -
The leaf pattern used in the design is that of the Beech Tree, much loved by the Elves. Nenya TM is described in the books as being made of mithril, a silver metal (White Gold, Platinum, or Silver). Our ring is available in yellow gold as well for those who prefer the color. The ring is also called The Ring of Adamant TM. Adamant is the Old English word for diamond. Each ring is fitted with a 1 ct. (5.25mm) Cubic Zirconia or CZ. Moissanite stones are also available as a substitution for an additional charge (see the bottom of this page or use the link above). Nenya TM has been designed with a matching tracer band, so that the ring can be used as a ladies engagement and wedding set. Nenya TM is available with one or two of these bands, as well as by itself. The ring is available in sizes 5 to 13, going up in half sizes.
About Moissanite: Stone Born From A Star -
When Frodo TM saw Galadriel\\\'s TM ring Nenya TM in the forest of Lorien TM, the stone glittered and shone like it held a star from the heavens.
A century ago, Nobel Prize Winner Henri Moissan discovered minute quantities of a new mineral in an ancient meteorite from the remote Diablo Canyon in Arizona. At its essence was the potential for an absolutely shimmering brilliance, fire, luster, and incredible hardness. However, the available quantity of this natural moissanite mineral was too limited for use in jewelry. Recently a way has been found to create moissanite for jewelry.
Moissanite is more brilliant and has more fire and luster than diamonds. It is also more durable than ruby, sapphire, or emerald. The Elven love of the heavenly bodies inspired this option, what elf wouldn\\\'t want to own their very own "star". Moissanite is available is 1/2 ct. (5.25mm), 3/4 ct. (6mm), and 1 ct. (6.5 mm) round stones. All stones are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
